In Florence , the Museo Novecento is hosting until July 7 Federico Tiezzi ’s video work La belva nella giungla, based on the Henry James novella of the same name published in 1903, edited for the occasion in translation and dramaturgy by Sandro Lombardi. With this new project, director, playwright and visual artist Federico Tiezzi continues his decades-long exploration of the language and artistic possibilities of video.

The video installation features performers Anna Della Rosa and Graziano Piazza in the roles of the story’s protagonists May and John. It uses costumes by Giovanna Buzzi, lighting by Gianni Pollini and pictorial interventions Jacopo Stoppa. Photography and editing, on the other hand, are by film director Nicola Bellucci.



The opera is a Compagnia Lombardi-Tiezzi, Vulpis Productions production. The project is made with the contribution of Fondazione CR Firenze and with the support of Regione Toscana and MiC.
