Bergamo, reopens exhibition on unusual New York photographed by Antonio Rovaldi

GAMeC has reopened its doors to Il suono del becco del picchio, the Antonio Rovaldi exhibition that opened last Feb. 13 at theAccademia Carrara’s Ala Vitali and closed shortly thereafter due to the lockdown.

“A small but important signal of rebirth, for us and for the entire city community, that our museum institution has tried, with its tools, to support in these very difficult months,” says GAMeC Director Lorenzo Giusti.

This exhibition represents the second chapter of the project End. Words from the Margins, New York City, promoted by GAMeC in partnership withHarvard University (Graduate School of Design), Kunstmuseum St. Gallen and Magazzino Italian Art in Cold Spring (NY), with which the artist won the fifth edition of theItalian Council, the program for the promotion of Italian contemporary art in the world of the General Directorate for Contemporary Creativity and Urban Regeneration of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism.

Curated by Lorenzo Giusti together with Steven Handel, Visiting Professor of Ecology at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design, and Francesca Benedetto, Design Critic, the exhibition, as well as the entire project, constitutes a eulogy of walking, of physically crossing the most marginal spaces, and is based on the idea that precisely from these boundaries (not only geographical, but also political and anthropological), a conscious rebirth of society can develop.

The exhibition is extended until July 26.
