Venaria Reale closed 2023 with 445,598 visitors in 295 opening days, registering an increase of about 30 percent compared to 2022, and now announces and prepares for exhibitions in 2024.
A major exhibition on the masterpieces of Capodimonte’s art collections will be held at the end of March at the Halls of Arts. For this occasion, more than sixty works from the Farnese and Bourbon collections created by the most famous masters in the history of art, such as Caravaggio, Titian, Masaccio, and Parmigianino, to name a few, will arrive at Venaria Reale from the Capodimonte Museum. The exhibition is made possible thanks to the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte.
At the end of April, Glassstress will be held: great contemporary Italian and international artists and designers in dialogue with master glassmakers from Murano along the Reggia’s tour route, in collaboration with the Berengo Foundation, as part of the Venice Art Biennale.
The Gardens of the Reggia in May will feature the Festival Green Art. The Forms of Nature in the Forms of a Garden with works by ten international artists able to appreciate and highlight the relationship between contemporary art and the magnificence of the garden.
Also coming in 2024 is an exhibition on William Blake, in collaboration with the Tate in London, which will close the trilogy dedicated to the artistic production of English Romanticism that began with the exhibitions on Constable and Turner. The exhibition dedicated to William Blake is scheduled for the end of October at the Halls of Arts.
Finally, the Consortium is implementing the necessary steps to schedule for next fall the exhibition Tolkien. Man, Professor, Author.
In addition to the Reggia’s usual cultural schedule, major institutional events that will be hosted throughout the year include the G7 summit dedicated to the themes of Nature and the Environment, scheduled for April, and the departure of the Giro d’Italia, which will take place from the Reggia on May 4.
