Exhibition dedicated to Gio' Pomodoro at Palazzo Ducale in Urbino extended

An exhibition dedicated to sculptor Gio' Pomodoro at the Ducal Palace in Urbino is extended until September 2, 2018. Special openings are planned for the palace and gallery.

Extended until Sept. 2, 2018, is the exhibition dedicated to sculptor Gio’ Pomodoro entitled"Panta Rei" set up at the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche in Urbino’s Ducal Palace.

Twenty-five sculptures are on display, including marbles, bronzes and polyesters, some of monumental dimensions; also present are large ink-drawn maps, some of them previously unpublished.

The director of the National Gallery of the Marches, Peter Aufreiter, said, “It will be a unique opportunity for tourists to Urbino and the Ducal Palace throughout the summer to be able to visit such a valuable exhibition, which has been able to fascinate and amaze visitors from different generations. The seductive dialogue between contemporary art and Renaissance architecture was a winner. We could not close such a successful exhibition in July, the public who visited it was fascinated by the works and the context in which they were placed.”

Also, starting July 30, there will be special openings of the Ducal Palace and the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche on Monday afternoons to allow the public to visit the Palace, the exhibitions and the Gallery’s permanent display.
And again, until Aug. 30, extraordinary openings will also take place on Thursday evenings from 7:20 to 10:20 p.m. with concerts, events, and theater performances. During Thursday evenings, it will be possible to access the top of the Torricino, in addition to the usual all-day visits on Saturday.
