French Impressionists star in multimedia show in Rome

The multimedia show French Impressionists - from Monet to Cézanne opens in Rome. At the Palazzo degli Esami, from October 5, 2018.

Hot on the heels of the global success of the Van Gogh Alive event comes to Rome the multimedia show FrenchImpressionists - from Monet to Cézanne, produced by Gianfranco Iannuzzi - Renato Gatto - Massimiliano Siccardi, in association with Grande Exhibitions’ SENSORY4TM technology, an Italian production by Time4Fun. In the heart of Trastevere, the rooms of the Palazzo degli Esami will host, from October 5, 2018, the show celebrating the most famous French Impressionist painters and one of the most fascinating periods in the history of modern art.

The show, which arrives for the first time in Italy, aims to pay tribute to the great artists considered the forerunners of a new way of observing the world and nature around us, of expressing immediacy and fluidity through the contrast of light and shadow and vivid colors in painting. The exhibition, designed specifically for the rooms of the Palace of Examinations, will take the public back in time to 19th-century Paris to allow both adults and children to immerse themselves in this fascinating and influential artistic movement. The works of the Impressionists are projected on a large scale to bring back, with larger-than-life dimensions, the bold brushstrokes of Monet, Degas, Pissarro, Cézanne and many others. Visiting the show allows visitors to delve into an environment lit exclusively by images of the works of the great masters, arousing an immersive effect.

For this purpose, the organizers considered the spaces of the Palazzo degli Esami, reopened to the public after several years, to be suitable: thus in its halls thousands of images depicting the masterpieces of the French Impressionists are projected in full screen thanks to SENSORY4TM technology: high-definition projectors, multi-channel graphics and surround sound that contribute to creating one of the most immersive multi-screen environments in the world. All with a soundtrack featuring music by Debussy, Tchaikovsky, Ravel, and Offenbach.

The show opens Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Ticket price: full price €15, concessions 6-12, students, over 65, disabled €12. Children under 6 years old free admission accompanied by a family member.
