The National Museum of the Risorgimento in Turin presents the exhibition Hero until January 8, 2023. Garibaldi pop icon, 140 years after the death of Giuseppe Garibaldi. The aim is to tell the story of the myth that developed around the famous historical figure, who became iconic in the mid-19th century.
Curated by museum director Ferruccio Martinotti, the exhibition showcases more than three hundred objects from around theworld, including ceramics, smoking ware, toys, drawing and sticker albums, comic books, photostories, records, advertisements, books, and everyday objects, to narrate the figure of Garibaldi as a hero.
Admission to the exhibition is included in the National Museum of the Risorgimento ticket (free for Torino Piemonte Museums and Torino+Piemonte Card holders). The exhibition is organized under the patronage of the City of Turin, Metropolitan City of Turin and Piedmont Region and with the support of Iren.
