An exhibition in Locarno explores the mechanisms of vision through contemporary art. From August 6, 2026, to January 10, 2027, the Museo Casa Rusca will host *L’Occhio Dinamico. Traiettorie della Percezione* (The Dynamic Eye: Trajectories of Perception), an exhibition curated by Marco Franciolli and presented by the Allegra Ravizza Gallery. The project explores the relationship between vision, space, and knowledge through more than half a century of artistic experimentation, rangingfrom Op Art toProgrammed Art, from photographic research to contemporary generative practices, and including experiments related to anamorphosis.
The exhibition explores the active role of the gaze in the construction of reality, challenging the notion of an immediate and objective vision. The works engage visitors through optical devices, variations in light, shifts in perspective, and unstable spatial configurations, transforming perception into a dynamic process in which observation and sensory experience contribute to the production of meaning.
The interactive dimension of the exhibition introduces a playful and experimental element, conceived as a tool for exploration and perceptual verification, requiring the viewer to continually reposition their gaze. Through artistic practices that have placed perception at the center of their research, the project reflects on the relationships between body, mind, and space, fostering a dialogue between art, science, and philosophy. The exhibition will also feature several works from the collection of the Allegra Ravizza Gallery.
