In Udine a monograph on the videoanimations of William Kentridge from 1975 to the present day

From Nov. 19 to Dec. 10, 2021, the Moroso space in Udine presents Waiting for Kentridge, a monograph devoted to the artist's videoanimations from 1975 to the present.

Kicking off this year is the Small Animation Festival together with one of the greatest artists on the international scene-William Kentridge. Industry scholars and animation film enthusiasts will have the opportunity to see twelve of his films, made from 1975 to 2020, in video stations, monitors, computers and TVs at different locations in the new Moroso Design Outlet space at Via Nazionale 85 in Tavagnacco(Udine), renovated according to an industrial loft aesthetic. It will be William Kentridge himself who will open the festival and the Waiting for Kentridge exhibition and talk about his experience as well as the exhibition on Nov. 19 at 6 p.m.

The exhibition will be open to the public until December 10, 2021 and is curated by Paola Bristot and Andrijana Ruzic. The curators designed the arrangements in collaboration with Lia Rumma Gallery and Studio Kentridge. "We are looking forward to seeing the result of this synergy between the world of design and the world of animation cinema, which is increasingly pushing towards horizons related to contemporary art, and which finds in a territory like Friuli Venezia Giulia its most appropriate solution to the interrelation between visual languages and production systems, whose level is internationally recognized," they said.

The exhibition project is proposed as a journey into one of William Kentridge’s most careful researches.
