Konstantin Grcic and imagination in power on display at MAXXI in Rome

From February 6 to March 15, 2020 , the exhibition Konstantin Grcic. Imagination in Power, curated by Domitilla Dardi.

For the third edition of Studio Visit, a program that each year invites an internationally renowned designer to dialogue with works from the museum’s collection to return his or her own personal vision, Konstantin Grcic (Munich, 1965), an award-winning German designer, confronts an entire strand he traced in MAXXI Architettura’s archives, that of so-called “fantastic architecture.”

Grcic explores the visionary aspect of the work of Sergio Musmeci, Giuseppe Perugini, Maurizio Sacripanti and a contemporary architect, Bernard Khoury. Through the use of Alcantara, Grcic brings to life a fantastic landscape, on the border between reality and surreal dimension, reflecting on topical issues such as the confrontation between natural and artificial, the relationship between man and technology.
