Luca Della Robbia's Visitation returns to Pistoia and will be featured in an exhibition

After being loaned to the United States for an exhibition, Luca Della Robbia's Visitation has returned to Pistoia.

The wonderful Visitation created by Luca Della Robbia will be on display from July 22, 2017 to January 7, 2018 inside the church of San Leone in Pistoia.

The glazed terracotta work depicting the intense moment of the embrace between Elizabeth and the Virgin Mary will be on view up close for free.

The work has just returned to Pistoia after being on loan to the United States for"Della Robbia: Sculpting in Color in Reinassance Florence" and has been restored by theOpificio delle Pietre Dure, also conducting scientific investigations.

The exhibition is curated by the Diocese of Pistoia and the Soprintendenza.
