Miradolo Castle dedicates an exhibition to Irma Blank, the recently deceased artist

From Oct. 14 to Nov. 26, 2023, Miradolo Castle is dedicating the exhibition project Irma Blank(Celle, 1934 - Milan, 2023), a long-forgotten artist who passed away last April, to Irma Blank. Between Sign and Silence.

The exhibition will be developed around three thematic nuclei in dialogue with each other: works, artist’s books and photographic and video material. Intent is also to create a dialogue with the historical rooms of the exhibition venue, an ideal counterpoint between the sign and time of the works and the history and architecture of the spaces.

The exhibition also includes a dedicatedsound installation, curated by Avant-dernière pensée, and the educational project Da un metro in giù, with games and insights distributed throughout the exhibition.

With this project, the Cosso Foundation, on the occasion of its fifteen years of activity, inaugurates atempo: a new exhibition format in which to encounter, for a short period of time and in some of the rooms of Miradolo Castle, small but significant tributes to artists or moments in art history that, due to their peculiarities, research or poetics, are linked to the identity of the place and its different souls. atempo intends to investigate the possibilities of observing and reading a work of art not only as a visual object in dialogue with space, but as an instrument of discovery and reflection of one’s own time and, at the same time, of the time, personal and private, of those who place themselves in relation with the work itself.
