The exhibition, curated by Raffaella Perna, displays more than two hundred photographs and photo books from the Donata Pizzi Collection. The latter consists of photographs made by about seventy female authors from the period between the mid-1960s to the present.

The exhibition is divided into four sections devoted to photography of reportage and social denunciation, the relationship between photographic image and feminist thought, themes of identity and representation of affective relationships, and contemporary research related to the expressive potencialities of the medium.
The documentary"Talking to You," featuring interviews with female photographers in the exhibition, is screened in the exhibition itinerary.

Italian Women Photographers 1965 - 2018” is promoted by Roma Capitale - Assessorato alla Crescita culturale, organized by Azienda Speciale Palaexpo, conceived by Triennale di Milano and Museo di Fotografia Contemporanea di Milano-Cinisello Balsamo in collaboration with Azienda Speciale Palaexpo.
