Turner's works from London's Tate Britain coming to the Chiostro del Bramante

From March 22 to August 26, 2018, the Chiostro del Bramante will host the exhibition Turner. Works from the Tate.

The Chiostro del Bramante will host from March 22 to August 26, 2018, for the first time in Rome, the exhibition"Turner. Works from the Tate."

Visitors will be able to admire a collection of works by English artist Joseph Mallord William Turner (April 23, 1775 - Dec. 19, 1851) from London’s Tate Britain. This exhibition opens an important collaboration between Tate Britain and the Chiostro del Bramante.

More than 90 works of art, including sketches, studies, watercolors, drawings and a selection of oils never exhibited together in Italy, make up an exhibition itinerary that has as its common thread memories of travels, emotions and landscapes that the artist contemplated during his sojourns abroad.
Many of the works on display, known as “Turner Bequest,” come from the artist’s personal studio. Usually only in winter did Turner lock himself inside his studio, while during the warm season he loved to paint outdoors.

Through six sections, visitors will learn chronologically about the artistic activity of this great painter.

The exhibition is curated by David Blayney Brown and is produced and organized by DART Chiostro del Bramante in collaboration with Tate Britain.
