Characteristic of the famous photojournalist was to tell the dichotomy between industrial development and poverty, between modernity and tradition, as will be well noted from the images on display in the exhibition.

The retrospective"Werner Bischof. Photographs 1934-1954," organized by the Venice Foundation and Civita Tre Venezie in collaboration with Magnum Photos and the Werner Bischof Estate, is also enhanced by the documentary made in 1987 by René Baumann and Marco Bischof,"On the Road: Werner Bischof - Photographer 51-52."
