Five baroque scholarships of 23,000 euros each: the 1563 Foundation's call for applications


The 1563 Foundation in Turin launches a call for five scholarships on the Baroque age of 23,000 euros each.

Five scholarships, worth 23,000 euros each, on the subject of portraiture in the Baroque period between 1680 and 1750. The initiative, supported by the 1563 Foundation (the Compagnia di San Paolo of Turin’s instrumental body that preserves and enhances the Compagnia di San Paolo’s Historical Archives and promotes studies and research on Baroque culture) will be launched tomorrow: in fact, from Friday, April 14, it will be possible to download the call for applications from the Foundation’s official website(www.fondazione1563.it).

Applicants will be able to submit their project until July 16. The five winners will be supported by a mentor and have their travel expenses covered up to a maximum of 1,500 euros. The call, now in its fifth year, has so far involved 200 young scholars from Italy, France, Spain, Germany and the United States covering 23 research tracks with an expenditure of more than 750,000 euros.
