MiBACT makes aid available for tour guides. Here are all the rules


The Ministry of Culture has published the decree making aid available for tour guides affected by the effects of the Covid crisis. They will receive a maximum of 5,000 euros each.

The Ministry of Heritage and Culture and Tourism today published the ministerial decree of Oct. 2 on “Implementing provisions for the allocation of resources from the fund referred to in Article 182, paragraph 1, of Decree-Law No. 34, converted, with amendments, by Law17 July 2020, No. 77, intended for tourist guides and tour leaders”: in practice, it is the decree by which MiBACT makes aid available for tourist guides and tour leaders affected by the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on tourism.

The aid, established by the relaunch decree, amounts to 20 million euros, and is available to holders of a VAT number who carry out prevalent activities identified by ATECO code 79.90.20 (“Activities of tourist guides and tour leaders”). To be eligible for the grants, one must be resident in Italy, hold a VAT number with the above-mentioned ATECO code as the prevalent activity on or before February 23, 2020, hold a license to carry out the profession of tourist guide or tour leader, and be in compliance with social security, tax, and insurance obligations.

The fulfillments are taken care of by the General Directorate of Tourism. The resources are divided among the beneficiaries equally: each guide will receive a maximum of five thousand euros, and the contribution will not contribute to the formation of income.

In the coming days the General Directorate of Tourism will publish thenotice with procedures and deadlines for submitting applications for contributions. Interested parties, from the date of publication of the notice, will have fifteen days to submit the application, strictly in telematic mode and according to the instructions contained in the notice itself. Applicants will self-certify that they meet the requirements of the notice. For beneficiaries, even if they are guides and accompanying persons at the same time, only one application can be submitted, specifying the activity for which the contribution is requested.
