The new director, in addition to the task of providing for the study, care, management, and enhancement of the museum’s permanent collections, is called upon to strengthen the relationship between the museum and its public with attention to the issue of cultural accessibility, promote initiatives, activities, and implement a program of temporary exhibitions aimed at both increasing attendance and reaching new audiences, ensuring both scientific accuracy and a popular approach. He or she will also have to strengthen the museum’s relationship with the territory and the city of Turin, with national and international museums and institutions, both in terms of exhibition activities and scientific research, as well as increase fundraising activities and develop new ways of digital enjoyment of the museum and its artistic heritage.

The term of office will be full-time and will last four years (extendable by one), with economic and normative treatment commensurate with professional experience. Among the requirements: a master’s degree, high-level scientific skills in history, art history, archaeology, decorative arts and architecture, cultural heritage, with particular reference to the arts and historical periods of the museum’s collections, also proven by experience in curating exhibitions and temporary exhibitions or prestigious scientific assignments in the field, and also proven leadership skills and experience in human resources management, experience in public-private collaboration, knowledge of digitization processes of museum activities. Knowledge of Italian, English and French at B2 level is essential.
