Barberini Cinema and National Galleries of Ancient Art together to promote the Barberini District

The National Galleries of Ancient Art and the Barberini Cinema have initiated a dialogue to promote and enhance the Barberini District.

The reopening six months ago of the Cinema Barberini gave new life to the cultural system of the so-called Barberini District. With the aim of further enhancing and promoting the development of the area, the Gallerie Nazionali di Arte Antica and the Cinema Barberini immediately started a dialogue with the common intention of strengthening the perception of the district as a central cultural hub for the city and a privileged place for participation and enjoyment of the arts. In fact, last October the MIA - Mercato Internazionale Audiovisivo was held both in Palazzo Barberini and in the halls of the Cinema and the next edition (October 9-13) will also take place in the same places.

From May 15 to June 30, 2023, Cinema Barberini will offer visitors to the National Galleries admission at the special rate of 7 euros valid for all scheduled shows upon presentation of the museum’s admission ticket.

During the same period, Cinema Barberini viewers will have the opportunity to visit Palazzo Barberini and the exhibition The Sovereign Image. Urban VIII and the Barberini at the reduced cost of 10 euros. With the same ticket it will also be possible to visit the Corsini Gallery, within 20 days of first use.

The initiative comes on the occasion of the docufilm Borromini and Bernini. Challenge to Perfection directed by Giovanni Troilo and distributed by Nexo Digital, at Cinema Barberini for three days only on May 15, 16 and 17, 2023.
