We are kicking off the Facebook Art Week initiative today: from Dec. 2 to Dec. 9, we invite Facebook people who love art in all its forms to post their favorite artwork as their profile picture. Our ambitious goal is to fill Facebook with works of art!
Why this initiative? For many reasons. Because in Italy, it seems that there are few people who really care about art, given also all the recent current events that tell us about neglect, mismanagement, scarcity of funding. Because if more attention were paid to art, we would all live better. Because art is a universal way to communicate, because art, besides giving us emotions, is useful and helps to make us better people and citizens. Because we are convinced that art belongs to everyone.
And to make as many people as possible aware of this, we have chosen to use Facebook itself, convinced that the power of art can make the most famous social network, for a week, a place full of art and beauty. With the goal of reaching and raising awareness of so many people!
LET’S FILL FACEBOOK WITH ART!
