Sentiment of Beauty ODV will be featured at Lucca Orientando 2025 with two moments of dialogue dedicated to art and its communication. The Lucca-based association is organizing roundtables to be held on Nov. 14 and 15 at the Sala del Capitolo of the Real Collegio di Lucca (at Piazza del Collegio 13), with the aim of offering secondary school students, teachers and families tools for knowledge and insight into art-related professions and cultural institutions in the area.
The first meeting, scheduled for Friday, Nov. 14 at 10 a.m., is titled Communicating art: journalism, art criticism, artificial intelligence and will be moderated by Marco Carminati. Speakers will include Arianna Baldoni, art critic and columnist for the monthly magazine Arte; Paolo Bolpagni, director of the Fondazione Ragghianti and promoter of the publications Critica d’arte and LUK; Raul Gabriel, artist and columnist for the newspaper L’Avvenire; Federico Giannini, editor of the magazine Finestre sull’Arte; and Francesca Anita Gigli, content creator of Likeitalians. At the end of the panel discussion, the video VIVO, w0rm$ series, 4’32" (2021) by Raul Gabriel will be screened. The meeting aims to delve into contemporary languages of artistic communication, exploring traditional tools and innovations related to artificial intelligence.
On Saturday, Nov. 15, again at 10 a.m., the second panel discussion entitled Museums: places of culture, identity and aggregation will be held, again moderated by Marco Carminati. The day will begin with a lectio magistralis The Legend of the Dusty Museum by Cristina Acidini, president of theAccademia delle Arti del Disegno in Florence. This will be followed by speeches by Maria Luisa Beconcini, president of the Barsanti and Matteucci Combustion Engine Museum; Luisa Berretti, director of the National Museum of Villa Guinigi and the National Museum of Palazzo Mansi; and Simonetta Bigongiari, director of the Museum-Home of Giacomo Puccini; Frank Boehm, director of the Mitoraj Museum in Pietrasanta; Francesco Niccoli, head of the scientific secretariat of the Museum and Archaeological Complex of the Cathedral of Lucca; and Ave Marchi, president of the Paolo Cresci Foundation for the History of Italian Emigration. Again, the meeting will conclude with the screening of Raul Gabriel’s video. The discussion will focus on the role of museums as places of cultural identity, collective heritage and points of aggregation for the territory.
