MiBAC joins the International Day of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Bonisoli: culture is the absence of barriers

To mark the International Day of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, MiBAC is promoting events and initiatives throughout Italy.

Monday, December 3, 2018 marks the renewal of the International Day of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and MiBAC is joining the initiative by promoting activities and projects aimed at expanding the enjoyment of cultural heritage in cultural venues throughout Italy.

The events organized by museums, archaeological parks, archives and libraries, such as guided tours, meetings and conferences, will have as a common thread the phrase"One day a year all year round."

Cultural Heritage Minister Alberto Bonisoli says, “Culture is the absence of barriers, and that is why the Ministry adheres with full conviction and enthusiasm to the International Day of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. A special day to reaffirm an everyday commitment so that everyone, without any distinction, can feed on culture and experience its inclusive capacity, which is fundamental in individual and social growth.”
