Minister of Culture Alessandro Giuli has signed the decree for the planning of financial resources earmarked for “Major Cultural Heritage Projects” for 2025, which provides a total investment of more than 15 million euros for five interventions distributed among Puglia, Veneto, Tuscany, Lazio and Emilia-Romagna. The plan, dedicated to the protection and enhancement of assets of exceptional cultural interest and national importance, aims to carry out organic interventions for the conservation, redevelopment and promotion of the heritage, with a special focus on tourism and territorial enhancement.
In detail, nearly 2 million euros will be allocated to Otranto for the redevelopment of public spaces in the historic center, with the aim of improving the enjoyment and livability of the ancient Salento village. In Badia Polesine (Rovigo), more than 1 million euros will finance the restoration and enhancement of the Baruffaldi Civic Museum, an important cultural stronghold in the area.
In Florence, the Ministry has allocated 3 million euros for the creation of the GalileoLab, a new space dedicated to the popularization of science and the memory of the contribution of Florence and Tuscany to the history of science, through exhibitions, demonstration activities and educational paths open to citizens, schools and visitors.
In Rome, with 6.5 million euros in funding, an extensive project will be launched to conserve and enhance the bibliographic heritage of the National Library of Archaeology and History of Art in Palazzo San Felice, in continuity with the interventions already included in the Olivetti Plan.
Finally, 3 million euros will be used to restore the Marconi Mausoleum and Villa Griffone in Sasso Marconi (Bologna), symbolic places of Italian scientific memory.
