The database with the richest and most comprehensive bibliography devoted to Italo Calvino available today is born

BIBLIC-Bibliografia Italo Calvino, the database containing the richest and most comprehensive bibliography dedicated to Italo Calvino available today, with more than 19 thousand entries, will be inaugurated on March 27 at 4 p.m. the Multimedia Hall of the Rectorate building ofLa Sapienza University in Rome. The project was carried out, in collaboration with MAECI, by an international research team from Laboratorio Calvino, the research center coordinated by Laura Di Nicola of La Sapienza University of Rome, starting with the Italo Calvino Fund, donated by the writer’s wife Esther Calvino in 2018.

The database aims to restore the vastness of the writer’s legacy, inventorying not only his works, but also the countless translations and the vast critical bibliography dedicated to him.

The meeting, which is part of the initiatives for the centenary of Calvino’s birth, will be opened by greetings from the rector Antonella Polimeni and the head of the coordination unit of the Italian Cultural Institutes of MAECI Marco Maria Cerbo, with an introduction by the dean of the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy Arianna Punzi and the director of the Department of Modern Letters and Cultures Marco Mancini. Also speaking will be Francesca Rubini, head of the Biblic project, Elisabetta Tamburini, director of the Library of the Department of Modern Letters and Cultures, Bruno Falcetto lecturer at the University of Milan. Laura Di Nicola, director of the Calvin Laboratory, will coordinate.
