CAMERA will organize the 2026 edition of EXPOSED - Torino Foto Festival. Laying bare is the theme chosen

The Fondazione per la Cultura Torino has officially awarded CAMERA - Centro Italiano per la Fotografia the task of organizing the next edition of EXPOSED - Torino Foto Festival, scheduled from April 9 to June 2, 2026. Chosen theme: Laying Bare.

The Fondazione per la Cultura Torino has officially entrusted CAMERA - Centro Italiano per la Fotografia with the task of organizing the next edition of EXPOSED - Torino Foto Festival, scheduled from April 9 to June 2, 2026.

Now in its third edition, the Festival is thus opening a new chapter in its history, entrusting the artistic direction to Walter Guadagnini, a curator, historian and art critic who brings with him extensive experience in contemporary photography.

The theme chosen for the 2026 edition of EXPOSED - Torino Foto Festival is Getting Naked: an invitation to explore one’s inner self and to go beyond appearances, to question the link between identity and representation, body and image, visible and invisible. It is an open and articulated theme that will serve as a thread running through the exhibitions, meetings and multiple initiatives spread throughout the city, involving artists and institutions of national and international prominence.

For CAMERA, the responsibility of organizing EXPOSED 2026 represents the recognition of a path built over more than ten years of activity, during which it has contributed decisively to consolidate Turin’s role as one of the points of reference for photography in Italy, through exhibitions, educational programs and collaborations with prestigious institutions such as MoMA in New York, Jeu de Paume in Paris and Les Rencontres de la Photographie in Arles.

"With Mettersi a nudo we want to bring the Festival to the center of the city and people’s lives, make it a real celebration," says Walter Guadagnini, Artistic Director of EXPOSED - Torino Foto Festival 2026. "Nudity is not only understood as physical unveiling, but also as a chance to strip off superstructures, to present oneself for who one is, to look at oneself and look at the other without filters. Photography is the language that more than any other can return these feelings: the truth of a body, of a landscape, of a face, but also the diversity of the gazes that observe them, that of the many authors who will be presented at EXPOSED."

"We are proud that CAMERA can make its experience and network available to EXPOSED," says Emanuele Chieli, President of CAMERA. “This assignment is the result of collective work and trust built over the years with the territory and institutions. With Walter Guadagnini directing the Festival and with François Hébel, CAMERA’s new artistic director, who will bring his long experience gained at the helm of the Rencontres d’Arles, we can count on a team of international caliber, capable of further growing the event and strengthening Turin’s vocation as a city of photography.”
