Cinisello Balsamo, children's joy in forty shots on display in piazzetta

Photographs from the collections of the Museum of Contemporary Photography dedicated to the joy of children on display in the small square in Cinisello Balsamo.

The Museum of Contemporary Photography, in collaboration with the Municipality of Cinisello Balsamo presents the exhibition Tana libera tutti! Photographs from MUFOCO’s collections, set up outdoors from April 28 to June 13, 2021.

On display for the occasion will be about forty images, printed in large format, of the photographs that are part of the Museum’s collection, all focusing on children and childhood.

Indeed, the protagonists in these shots are children and their contagious energy, as a good omen for a future that can be bright again. To them and their worlds of games, smiles, friendship, liveliness, joy, and carefreeness the Museum addresses.

It consists of photographic reproductions of shots by Liliana Barchiesi, Gianni Berengo Gardin, Mario Cattaneo, Gianfranco Mazzocchi, Enzo Nocera, Federico Patellani, Klaus Zaugg: seven important Italian photographers who focus on different aspects of childhood, from leisure time to school and sports; moments characterized by a strong sense of sociality, close sharing and natural gestures within the group. The shots range from the post-World War II period to the early 2000s, from Naples to Cinisello Balsamo.

The decision to continue past experiences of open-air exhibitions, thus making art accessible to anyone and at any time, is intended to confirm the idea of a culture that becomes an integral part of a society’s growth, even and especially in this time of uncertainty and difficulty.

This first exhibition will be followed by another, starting in mid-June, which will involve the public of Cinisello Balsamo through the theme of soccer.
