Starting January 20, 2022, guided tours open to the public of the Tombs of Fadilla and Nasoni on the Via Flaminia in Rome will begin every third Thursday of the month. The tombs underwent a thorough restoration thanks to which they were reopened on the occasion of European Heritage Days 2018.

The Tomb of Fadilla, discovered in 1923 and dating to the late second century AD, owes its name to a small marble tombstone with a funerary epigraph dedicated to his wife Fadilla by her husband. It features a decorative layout consisting of a mosaic floor, in black and white, and the four walls characterized by panels enclosing animals and human figures.

The Tomb of the Nasons, discovered in 1674 and dating from the second century AD, now consists of a rectangular, barrel-vaulted room divided into three niches on each long side and a back wall. The decoration alternates between stucco panels and paintings with mythological subjects. The niches feature large scenes depicting survival after death and hope for a place of bliss.

Two rounds of visits are scheduled: at 10:30 a.m. on Via dei Casali Molinario in front of the entrance to the Tomb of Fadilla ending at the Tomb of the Nasoni; at 12 noon on Via Flaminia 961 in front of the entrance to the Tomb of the Nasoni ending at the Tomb of Fadilla. A maximum of 10 people per tour shift will be admitted with free admission subject to availability. Reservation required at ss-abap-rm.malborghetto@beniculturali.it (in the reservation email you must indicate the chosen tour round, number of participants for each individual reservation, first name, last name and email address).
