Rome, on the Tiber River the first inflatable work by street artist Millo: two giant figures locked in an embrace

On the left bank of the Tiber in Rome, The Lovers, the first inflatable installation by street artist Millo, is on view until Sept. 30, 2025. Two giant figures clasp each other in an embrace inspired by the word "Amor," Rome's palindrome.

On the left bank of the Tiber River, in Rome, between Umberto I Bridge and Sant’Angelo Bridge, two giant figures, 18 meters long and 7 meters high, clasp each other in an embrace. It is The Lovers, the work of Francesco Camillo Giorgino, aka Millo, an internationally renowned street artist best known for his large-scale murals. For the first time, the artist has tried his hand at an inflatable installation, still in his style but transforming it into a large-scale work intended to be a visual hymn to love, lightness and freedom among the beauty of the Eternal City.

The word “Amor,” a palindrome of Rome and long believed to be the city’s secret name, was the inspiration. The result is an installation that combines poetry and imagination and invites the viewer to stop, contemplate and be guided by the suggestion of an infinite embrace.

The realization was made possible by the collaboration with the local Terrazza Tevere and the technical support of FLY IN. The Lovers was created on the occasion of TrasteverEstate 2025 and will remain on view until September 30, 2025.
