Fuorisalone, Bertozzi & Casoni in Milan: "Regeneration" and exclusive installation photos

At the Fuorisalone in Milan, in the courtyard of the State University, Bertozzi & Casoni and Galleria De Ambrogi Milano present "Regeneration," a monumental sculpture about rebirth and human contradictions. Finestre sull'Arte publishes an exclusive preview of the installation images.

In the Sottoporticoof the Cortile d’Onore of theUniversità degli Studi di Milano Statale, as part of the Fuorisalone, on the occasion of the Salone del Mobile Milano (April 21-26, 2026), Regeneration, a monumental polychrome ceramic composition created by Bertozzi & Casoni and Galleria De Ambrogi Milano, takes shape. The installation is documented in an exclusive preview for Finestre sull’Arte.

As reported by Interni Magazine, the sculpture takes the form of a striking pyramidal structure built around the theme of rebirth and care, recurring elements in the artistic duo’s research. In the center of the composition appears a gorilla holding a deer on its lap. The animal’s hands, open and turned outward, suggest an attitude of listening and welcoming that recalls a form of piety, activating an emotional response in the viewer similar to that associated with the enjoyment of sacred images.

The work is intended to solicit reflection oriented toward values such as goodness, peace, compassion and acceptance. In this symbolic construction, the gorilla takes on the role of an emblem of strength and confidence in one’s thoughts, while the roe deer introduces a dimension of grace and vulnerability, linked to a feeling of respect toward humankind. At the base of the sculpture is an accumulation of dirty mattresses and garbage, an element that refers to the contradictions of the human condition.

The whole generates an aesthetic short-circuit: each element is reproduced and transfigured through ceramics without arousing repulsion, but rather attraction, thanks to the chromatic and compositional quality. The surface is punctuated by the presence of small goldencrest birds, which intervene as signs distributed in space. What emerges is a visual construction in which compassion, sharing and formal structure combine to define the conceptual core of the work.
