Albissola Marina, Casa Jorn turns five: a calendar of initiatives to celebrate

The Jorn House Museum in Albissola Marina is turning five years old, and to celebrate from May 1 to 5, 2019, it is the site of the Ca5a Jorn

On May 3, 2014, the Jorn House Museum in Albissola Marina was opened to the public: thus began five years ago the museum history of the residence that was once the home of Asger Jorn (Vejrum, 1914 - Aarhus, 1973), one of the greatest artists of the 20th century. To celebrate the anniversary, the Friends of Casa Jorn Association, which was entrusted with the management of the building by the Albissola Marina Municipal Administration in October 2015, is initiating CA5A JORN, five days of events that will take place May 1-5, 2019 inside the House Museum.

CA5A JORN will be a small promotional review, a series of events, workshops and meetings: if on the one hand, explain the organizers, the goal is to enthuse people about Asger Jorn’s art, especially the people of Albissola, to whom this review is dedicated, on the other hand it will be an opportunity to re-embrace old collaborators, friendly associations and historical partners. So it will be five days of celebrations that will have art as the protagonist, and the leitmotif of the review will obviously be Asger Jorn, and his visionary and sometimes elusive vision of the world, which in this House Museum is manifested in all its power (on this page you can read our detailed in-depth discussion on Casa Jorn.

In five years, Casa Jorn has seen more than 20,000 people pass through, including visitors, collaborators, partners and friends: “an important milestone, full of successes, people and culture, under the banner of enhancement, promotion and strong ties with the territory and its rich history,” reads a note from the museum. “Five years since the reopening, a lustre of activity that enshrines the close professional and human ties between the City Council, City of Albissola, Friends of Casa Jorn Association and MuDA - Museo Diffuso Albisola.” Below is the program of the initiative.
