Arte Sella 2025: a year of art, music, theater and architecture between Val di Sella and Borgo Valsugana

Arte Sella, an open-air museum in Val di Sella, presents its 2025 program with events dedicated to contemporary art, photography, design, dance, music, poetry and architecture, including the reopening of the former Malga Costa barn and new installations spread throughout the area.

Arte Sella, the open-air museum immersed in the nature of Val di Sella, Trentino, presents its program for 2025, confirming its vocation as a meeting space for different artistic languages. Born thirty-nine years ago, the project has integrated theater, music, dance, photography, poetry, design and architecture over the years, transforming the Trentino mountains into a place for research and artistic experimentation. Among the year’s highlights is the reopening of the former Malga Costa barn. After years of waiting, the historic exhibition space will be returned to the public on June 21, 2025, to coincide with the summer solstice, thanks to a project conceived by artist Marzia Migliora. The exhibition will also affect Villa Strobele and will open with a public meeting with the artist.

On July 19, also at Malga Costa, poet VivianLamarque will be the protagonist of Poetry at Arte Sella, a literary meeting curated by Susanna Tartaro, writer and host of Rai Radio 3’s Fahrenheit program. The event is produced in collaboration with The Little Bookshop of Levico. Arte Sella 2025 will also devote ample space to design. On August 10, Olimpia Zagnoli, LucaBoscardin and the SKNYPL collective will propose Design in gioco, a review curated by Domitilla Dardi that will investigate the relationship between design and creativity in a natural context.

Music will take center stage on August 30 with the concert Fucina Verde, featuring cellist Mario Brunello, Lucia Cortese and Mauro Valli. The artists will present a program designed to enhance the harmony between sound and environment. A new temporary architecture designed by Mario Cucinella will be inaugurated on September 26, 2025. The installation will be presented with a public meeting with the architect at Villa Strobele and Malga Costa. On that occasion, there will also be an architectural conference held in collaboration with Calchèra San Giorgio, a company specializing in the production of natural materials.

The season will conclude in October with Fucina Rossa, a series of musical gatherings that will take place at Malga Costa. The musical events will close a year that promises to be full of events capable of interweaving different forms of contemporary artistic expression. Arte Sella’s programming is entrusted to the scientific committee led by president Giacomo Bianchi, assisted by Marco Imperadori for architectural curatorship, Lorenzo Fusiforart curatorship and Domitilla Dardi for design curatorship. Mario Brunello directs music programming, while Roberto Casarotto is in charge of the dance sector. The coordination of educational activities, on the other hand, is entrusted to Ugo Morelli.
