Inside Magritte immersive show moves to South Korea

Crossmedia anticipates Phase 2 of exhibition and museum reopenings by bringing the immersive show Inside Magritte to South Korea.

The immersive show Inside Magritte, after its success in Milan and Florence, is moving to Seoul, South Korea: the Florentine company Crossmedia anticipates Phase 2 with the opening of the event on April 29, at theInsa Central Museum in Seoul, which will continue until September 13, 2020.

Announcing this is Federico Dalgas, president of Crossmedia: "We are very fortunate, because working in the digital cultural industry and making products that are adaptable to platforms, we have never stopped and certainly we are among the first in the world to offer a show at the Contemporary Art Museum in Seoul, South Korea, during this pandemic period. In fact, on April 29 we open Inside Magritte, the exhibition that Milanese and Florentines have already seen. This has been possible because Crossmedia has never stopped and we have not had to disrupt our working approach that much. To be fair, the deal for Inside Magritte had been signed by GNC Media, our distributor in Seoul, as early as last fall, but since Korea is far ahead in virus prevention, through contact tracing exercised through apps on smartphones, they never closed. Obviously they are all traced, and a debate could be opened here about the differences between countries, but it meant a lot to us because the show/show was set up by operating virtually and almost totally remotely. Being able to install and set up a show entirely remotely was a totally new experience for Crossmedia. It will serve for the future, especially making us realize that before there was so much wasted time, logistics and of course costs."

Through a multisensory journey lasting a total of 35 minutes, visitors will be invited to immerse themselves in Magritte’s surrealist universe. The immersive event has been curated by Julie Waseige, art historian and former scientific director of the Magritte Museum in Brussels, and offers a journey through the Belgian artist’s most iconic works.
