Parma Capital of Culture 2020 celebrates Van Gogh with multimedia event

Parma's Palazzo Dalla Rosa Prati will host the multimedia event Vincent Van Gogh Multimedia & Friends from January 31 to April 26, 2020.

Parma Capital of Culture 2020 presents from January 31 to April 26, 2020 Vincent Van Gogh Multimedia & Friends, an event dedicated to the famous Dutch artist. In the halls of Palazzo Dalla Rosa Prati, near the Baptistery, Van Gogh’s famous works, from portraits to self-portraits, still lifes and landscapes, will be reproduced on very high quality multimedia media and brought to life. Visitors will be completely immersed in the artist’s works.

The multimedia tour will wind through a living labyrinth that will lead to a secret room, where paintings of the illustrious friends he surrounded himself with during his stay in Paris will be on view. Coming from private collections, the masterpieces created by Monet, Degas and Renoir will help define the artistic context of that era, populated by the protagonists ofImpressionism and Post-Impressionism.

“We are honored to host what we believe is a true rendezvous with one of the most fascinating events in art history in such an effervescent year as Parma2020. The contrast between the neoclassical forms of the palace and such an avant-garde proposal in terms of the enjoyment of great masterpieces is a particularly interesting element, which adds a further cue and an innovative edge to the overflowing list of events of the city capital of culture and the expanded range of Emilia2020,” commented the Dalla Rosa Prati family.

Produced by Navigare s.r.l., the event will be open to the public Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
