From November 18 to 21, 2021, the first edition of Roma Arte in Nuvola, an international modern and contemporary art fair in the Fuksas Cloud, will be held in Roma Eur.

The first edition of Roma Arte in Nuvola, an international fair of modern and contemporary art taking place from November 18 to 21 in Roma Eur at the Nuvola, is kicking off. An annual project that finds its location in the Nuvola designed by Massimiliano Fuksas: a 7,000-square-meter space distributed on various levels welcomes a hundred Italian and foreign galleries specializing in the twentieth century and today’s emerging trends with works that include painting, sculpture, installation, video, performance, divided into the three sections of the fair, namely Main section, New entries, Solo show. Modern art is on the General Floor (ground floor) while contemporary art is on the Forum (first level). There are more than thirty special projects: exhibitions, exhibits, created by artists and cultural institutions covering a variety of languages, creating a path of proposals full of novelties. The area dedicated to specialized publishing with magazines, guides, art books completes the view of the current cultural landscape. For three days, the Talks Rethinking Rome. And beyond, will be animated by some 30 guests from the art world including museum directors, artists, critical collectors, representatives of independent spaces who intend to take stock of the post-pandemic situation and future prospects.

The fair project is conceived and directed by Alessandro Nicosia, organized by C.O.R. Creare Organizzare Realizzare, while the artistic direction is by Adriana Polveroni in collaboration with Valentina Ciarallo. The goal is also to systematize with the vibrant Roman art scene that has emerged in recent years, which has helped further delineate the cultural profile of art in this city. With the return to the capital of an event that aims to be a vehicle for the meeting of modern and contemporary art, as well as for discovering the latest trends in visual art, a decade-long artistic and cultural gap is being filled. “I am really satisfied,” said general director Alessandro Nicosia, “as, despite the two shifts of the dates initially planned due to lockdown, we managed to achieve the goals we had set with the participation of more than one hundred modern and contemporary art galleries, thirty special projects, a pool of prestigious sponsors and the authoritative presence of the Israeli Embassy and architect Fuksas. I like to emphasize the excellent response of Roman galleries, over thirty will be present.”

Each year Rome Art in the Cloud will host a foreign country with a focus on its artists. Opening this first edition is Israel Landscape, an exhibition strongly desired by the Embassy of Israel in Italy, curated by Ermanno Tedeschi and Vera Pilpoul, dedicated to the contemporary art scene. On display are the works of seventeen artists, working in sculpture, painting, photography and embroidery, born or active in Israel from various parts of the world.

There will be no shortage of prizes: the The Best Prize for the best artist presentation for booth, set-up, communication, graphics; the Rock Prize for the most original booth set-up; the Young Prize for the best gallery under 5; and the Absolute Modern Prize for the best set-up among modern art galleries.
