On the occasion of February 14, Valentine’s Day, the Brera Art Gallery presents a special project that puts art and taste in dialogue: It’s Not Just a Kiss! Come and Taste the Beauty. The initiative aims to pay homage to one of the collection’s most famous masterpieces, Francesco Hayez’s The Kiss, created in 1859 and housed in Room 38 of the museum. For the occasion, the historic kiosk located in front of Palazzo Brera will be transformed into the House of the Kiss, an experiential space where the public can immerse themselves in a sensory journey that interweaves artistic contemplation with the pleasure of tasting.
On Valentine’s Day, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., visitors will have the opportunity to savor a gastronomic proposal designed especially for the event: IL BACIO SALATO, a gourmet creation that translates the emotional intensity of Hayez’s painting into culinary terms. The protagonist is Filetto Baciato di Ponzone, a Slow Food Presidium: a special cured meat obtained by placing a whole pork fillet inside a ground mixture of pork and fat, enriched with salt, pepper, nutmeg, garlic and red wine. The tasting will be accompanied by CA’ DEL BACIO Prosecco DOC, made from a selection of grapes grown on the hills of San Pietro di Barbozza, in the Valdobbiadene area.
The organization is entrusted to DD Eventi, a company specializing in catering services that offers original formats inspired by the Italian gastronomic tradition. The initiative is hosted by Civic, a publishing and entrepreneurial project created with the aim of enhancing newsstands as places of encounter, culture and urban regeneration.
Also, from Feb. 14 to 22, 2026, thanks to a postcard that can be booked on the same day at the newsstand, the Pinacoteca di Brera is offering a special promotion: by purchasing a combined ticket, two people will be able to visit the museum, admire Hayez’s The Kiss live and discover the masterpieces of Palazzo Citterio. The offer is available exclusively on site and subject to availability.
