An exhibition on 20th century sculpture in Abano Terme with works from Sgarbi's collection

Villa Bassi Rathgeb in Abano Terme hosts the exhibition "1900 Sculpture Between the Two Wars," a journey through 20th-century sculpture with works from the Cavallini Sgarbi collection.

Until January 31, 2021, in Villa Bassi Ratgheb in Abano Terme(Padua), the public will be able to admire 40 works of the twentieth century selected from the Cavallini Sgarbi Collection. This is the exhibition 1900 Sculpture between the Two Wars, promoted by the Municipality of Abano Terme, and it aims to document great Italian sculpture in the decades between the two wars, with a natural extension to the first two decades of the twentieth century and up to the 1950s of the “Short Century.”

Vittorio Sgarbi, who is the curator of the exhibition, is defining the scanning of the exhibition itinerary that will allow visitors to admire, among others, sculptures by Libero Andreotti, Adolfo Wild, Arturo Martini, Arrigo Minerbi, Arturo Dazzi, Duilio Cambellotti, Attilio Selva, Francesco Messina, Marcello Mascherini, Venanzio Crocetti and others.

To be thus offered is the vision of a season among the liveliest and of great cultural ferment, both for the formal research that lingers on the contributions of the Secession, and to an orientation to a classicism of Tradition, mediated by the knowledge of the French classics, but substantially set on the recovery of the ancient.
