Villa Panza in Varese hosts from April 12 to December 9, 2018 The End of History, the solo retrospective of Barry X Ball.

Villa Panza in Varese hosts on the occasion of Miart, International Modern and Contemporary Art Fair, the solo exhibition of Barry X Ball, a Californian sculptor who, from his minimalist beginnings, has come to today’s experiments continuously highlighting the relationship between tradition and innovation, technology and history.

The End of History, this is the title of the retrospective, exhibits to the public 56 works that present Barry X Ball’s entire artistic activity, from the 1980s to the present: from his early works with a gold background to his recent Portraits and Masterpieces.

His works are created using metals, marbles, alabasters, onyx and lapis lazuli and combining virtual design and computer modeling with hand carving and polishing of details.
His is a constant dialogue between history and the contemporary.

The exhibition itinerary encompasses the rooms on the second floor of Villa Panza to the new space of the Rimesse per le Carrozze.

During the exhibition period, Milan ’s Castello Sforzesco is hosting a previously unseen Pieta (2017), Barry X Ball’s homage to the Rondanini Pieta, and the Pseudogroup of Giuseppe Panza (1998-2001), a tribute to Giuseppe Panza by the artist and the City of Milan.

The End of History exhibition is open to the public from April 12 to December 9, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Closed on non-holiday Mondays.

Tickets for Villa and Panza Collection: Full 15 euros, reduced for students aged 18 to 26 10 euros, reduced for children aged 4 to 14 7 euros.
