Barcelona's Fundació Miró is looking for a new director. The call for applications, which ends July 21, is online.

Barcelona’s Fundació Miró , or the foundation created by the great Catalan painter Joan Miró to do research on contemporary art and to introduce the public to his art, is looking for a new director.

Therefore, an international competition has been launched and the call for applications was published on June 12, with a deadline of July 21-there is therefore one month to send in your application. The director will be responsible for defining the programmatic lines of the foundation, directing its team and dictating the guidelines of the exhibitions, promoting research on the figure of Joan Miró, representing the foundation in official contexts, establishing relations with the media, and making sure that the foundation’s proposals reach an increasingly wide audience.

Required previous experience in museums dealing with contemporary art, leadership skills, good dialectic and communication background, and, of course, solid knowledge of Joan Miró’s art. The competition is open to all citizens of theEuropean Union who meet the requirements of the announcement. Applicants will be evaluated by a committee composed of members of the Patronage of Fundació Miró as well as members of the Spanish museum world.
