A large anthology dedicated to the nanny photographer Vivian Maier is coming to Bologna.

Bologna's Palazzo Pallavicini will host an extensive anthological exhibition dedicated to the nanny photographer Vivian Maier in its halls. The exhibition will also feature Super 8: an opportunity to follow the gaze of Vivian Maier, who began filming street scenes, events and places as early as 1960.

The halls of Palazzo Pallavicini in Bologna will host from Sept. 7, 2023 to Jan. 28, 2024 the exhibition Vivian Maier - Anthology, organized and produced by Chiara Campagnoli, Deborah Petroni and Rubens Fogacci of Pallavicini srl with curatorship by Anne Morin of diChroma photography based on photos from the Maloof Collection archive and Howard Greenberg Gallery in New York.

About one hundred and fifty original and Super 8mm photographs of Vivian Maier, the nanny photographer rediscovered only after her passing, will be on display. The curator has chosen to bring to the exhibition a selection from among the thousands of photographs available; 111 black-and-white photographs will be presented, joined by 35 color photos, divided into six sections for an extensive anthology.

Super 8s will also be on view that will provide an opportunity to follow the gaze of Vivian Maier, who began filming street scenes, events and places as early as 1960. Maier filmed everything that led her to a photographic image: she observed, lingered intuitively on a subject and then followed it.
