On the occasion of Milan Art Week 2026, Enel presents a collaboration with TOILETPAPER, a publishing project founded by artist Maurizio Cattelan and photographer Pierpaolo Ferrari. The initiative takes shape in the exhibition Made of Energy - Enel goes pop by Toiletpaper, open to the public from April 14 to 19, 2026 in the spaces of the TOILETPAPER Apartment in Milan.
The project introduces a novel reading of the energy theme, transposed within the visual universe that characterizes the magazine. Through a series of eleven photographs specially made by the creative team, energy is interpreted as life force, movement and transformation. The images translate into visual form some key concepts for the company, including simplicity, reliability, transparency, care, speed and contemporaneity.
The aesthetics adopted echo the hallmarks of TOILETPAPER: saturated colors, surreal scenarios and an instantly recognizable iconographic construction. The result is configured as a visual narrative that combines ironic and alienating elements, with the aim of stimulating a reflection on the relationship between energy, technology and everyday life. The initiative was created with the intention of adopting a contemporary and accessible language, capable of reaching a younger audience as well. In this perspective, a service such as energy supply is reformulated as a cultural and visual experience, through a process of simplification that aims to make complex content more direct.
The exhibition is set up in the spaces of the TOILETPAPER Apartment at 8 Via Balzaretti, in Milan’s Città Studi district. Over the years, the street has established itself as an international reference point for urban art, thanks to building facades decorated with some of the magazine’s best-known images. The project does not end with Milan Art Week. In fact, Made of Energy will continue with a traveling tour inside Enel outlets. The first stop is scheduled in Milan, at the store in Via Dante 5, from April 20 to May 3. Then the exhibition will move to Rome from May 6 to 17 and to Naples from May 20 to 30. The initiative is part of a path already started by the company, geared toward making the customer experience clearer and more immediate. At the same time, the project highlights a desire to update the visual and cultural codes of the brand in a contemporary key. In this context, the use of artistic language is used as a tool to translate complex content into more accessible forms.
