In its first week of opening, the Beato Angelico exhibition set up between Palazzo Strozzi and Museo di San Marco in Florence has already registered more than 10,000 visitors.

The exhibition, produced in collaboration with the National Museums Tuscany Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Culture, celebrates Fra Giovanni da Fiesole, among the leading figures of 15th-century Florence, relating his production to that of artists such as Lorenzo Monaco, Masaccio, and Filippo Lippi, and sculptors such as Lorenzo Ghiberti, Michelozzo and Luca della Robbia.

Curated by Carl Brandon Strehlke with Stefano Casciu and Angelo Tartuferi, the exhibition is the first major Florentine retrospective devoted to the artist in seventy years after the 1955 monograph. The exhibition also provided an opportunity for the restoration of numerous masterpieces and the recomposition, for the first time in more than two centuries, of altarpieces. On display are paintings, drawings, sculptures and miniatures from international museums and collections, as well as from local churches and institutions.

The Beato Angelico exhibition is promoted and organized by Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi, Ministry of Culture - Regional Directorate National Museums Tuscany and Museo di San Marco. Public supporters Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi: City of Florence, Region of Tuscany, Metropolitan City of Florence, Chamber of Commerce of Florence. Private supporters Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi: Fondazione CR Firenze, Fondazione Hillary Merkus Recordati, Committee of Partners of Palazzo Strozzi. Main Partner: Intesa Sanpaolo.
