Achille Lauro will compose a Sound Framework for Taranto's MArTA

After a visit to the MArTA in Taranto, Achille Lauro will compose a Sound Picture by being inspired by the museum's history and works.

After a visit to the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto - MArTA, Achille Lauro will compose a Quadro sonoro on Thursday, September 8 at 11:30 a.m., letting himself be inspired by the history and works of the Taranto museum.

The Quadro Sonori project, also capable of involving national and international artists, born from the collaboration between Orchestra della Magna Grecia and the City of Taranto, will thus be enriched with a new work. It will be the second Quadro Sonoro for the Taranto museum after the artistic residency of Oscar winner Dario Marianelli. The works of the Archaeological Museum of Taranto will inspire Achille Lauro in the fourth appointment of this musical journey, following the composition by maestro Remo Anzovino on the Gran Madre di Dio Co-cathedral, the one initiated by John Rutter on the San Cataldo Cathedral and the one by Marianelli: a journey that will allow Taranto to search within itself for its own sonic soul that will find its completion on the occasion of the 2026 Mediterranean Games.

"Thanks to Quadri Sonori," explains maestro Piero Romano, artistic director of the Orchestra della Magna Grecia, "the past and history are loaded with sound vibrations. Achille Lauro will know how to add a pop note to the Magna Graecia civilization of Taranto, contributing to the fusion of various styles and languages."

“After Dario Marianelli, MArTA is very happy to welcome Achille Lauro,” says the museum’s director, Eva Degl’Innocenti, “his music will animate the works present in a museum that is increasingly becoming a synaesthetic experience.”
