"The possibilities offered by new technologies allow us to bridge important distances. The visit will allow all fans to interact with the museum staff and enter the spaces that saw the Leopardian genius form and grow."

The stream will include a visit to the heart of the Library, among the thousands of volumes that Leopardi delved into in pursuit of happiness: from poetry to thought, from the study of languages to “sweaty papers,” from the search for an antidote to boredom to the desire for glory. Also included will be a focus among the rooms of the museum, where a remarkable collection of objects and documents is collected.

“This mode of visitation, which is also new to us, proved to be different but just as captivating as the one in presence,” said Countess Olimpia Leopardi, a descendant of the poet. She added that the poet can be “a valuable companion to turn to in this particular period.”

The initiative has the patronage of the University of Macerata.
