Google launches Art Selfie feature in Italy to find the painting that looks most like you

Google also launches 'Art Selfie,' the feature that tells you which painting you look like.

Google Arts& Culture’s Art Selfie feature is finally available in Italy: as we had reported to you in this news, the Google Arts & Culture app was already available in Italian, but not the feature that allows users to know which artwork they most resemble, as it was still in beta.

Google, in fact, explains that the intent was to “improve the matching technology, doubling the number of works. We worked with over 650 institutions around the world to have the feature available globally and double the number of possible matches, including tens of thousands of works.”

To date, 78 million selfies have been taken with this feature.
Once the selfie is taken with the smartphone, Google’s artificial intelligence is matched with a painting from among those in Google’s database, provided by the museums themselves.
