Illustrated version of Wes Anderson's Grand Budapest Hotel is born

Luchadora revisited Wes Anderson's hit film Grand Budapest Hotel in an illustrated version. The film's most iconic scenes have become illustrated stills.

Grand Budapest Hotel, the blockbuster film written, directed and co-produced by Wes Anderson in 2014 that was inspired by the writings of Austrian author Stefan Zweig, and which won four Oscars in 2015 (best costumes, best set design, best makeup, best soundtrack) as well as numerous other awards such as the award at the Berlin International Film Festival, has been revisited in an illustrated version.

It is the work of Florentine illustrator Luchadora (Alessandra Marianelli), who reinterpreted some of the film’s most iconic scenes as part of the publishing project This Is Not A Love Song. A total of twelve frames are illustrated, from the settings of the Republic of Zubrowska, the fictional city in which the story is set, to key characters in the film, such as Zero Moustafa, owner of the luxurious hotel.

Luchadora’s drawings are brought together in a paper box set reminiscent of VHS from the 1990s. The box also includes a poster, introductory illustrations and stickers.
