Street art, Picasso's bathers also wear masks at the beach

A new work by artivist Cristina Donati Meyer has appeared in Milan: Bathers in the Time of Covid, reinterpreting Picasso's famous painting.

Picasso ’s bathers have put on their masks: another street art work created by artivist Cristina Donati Meyer has appeared in Milan’s Via Tadino. It is The Bathers in the Time of Covid through which Donati Mayer revisited Pablo Picasso ’s famous 1922 work entitled Two Women Run on the Beach.

The artivist intends to remind vacationers with her street art intervention, “without alarmism or underestimation, that Covid19 has not yet been defeated and that caution should be exercised in individual behavior and in the various regional ordinances.”

The street artist, who combines art and activism, had made a poster in June in Milan, near the Covid 19 hospital in Fiera, depicting the president of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, who is cutting, in the guise of Lucio Fontana, famous for his canvas cuts, health care funds.
