The Carlo Bilotti Museum welcomes the solo exhibition of American artist Frank Holliday from June 20 to October 13, 2019.

From June 20 to October 13, 2019, the Museo Carlo Bilotti in theVilla Borghese Orangery in Rome is hosting the exhibition Frank Holliday in Rome.

After a little more than a year after the major exhibition dedicated to the New York scene of the 1970s-80s, Frank Holliday makes his first entrance to an Italian museum institution with his solo show, where he will exhibit 36 works made in 2016. Works completed in his studio near Piazza Navona, where he has worked tirelessly inspired by the works of the masters of art history. The artist himself called it his Roman monastic living room.

The exhibition also includes a screening of Anney Bonney’s unpublished film entitled Roman Holliday.

Frank Holliday is one of the artists of Club 57, the historicEast Village venue to which New York’s MoMA recently dedicated a major exhibition.
Born in 1957 in Greensboro, North Carolina, he lives and works in New York City.
A painter and performance artist, he took his cues from the Neo Expressionist and Neo Abstract movements and achieved fame in New York City during the 1970s and 1980s. In his early career, he worked closely with Andy Warhol and other artists such as Keith Haring, Ann Magnuson, and Kenny Scharf. He works with art galleries and has participated in numerous group exhibitions at prestigious New York venues.

The exhibition is curated by Cesare Biasini Selvaggi and is promoted by Roma Capitale - Assessorato alla Crescita culturale - Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali under the patronage of the American Embassy.
