Unforgettable Childhood: in Turin, Italian and Israeli artists dialogue on the experience of childhood

Unforgettable Childhood - L’Infanzia indimenticabile, curated by Ermanno Tedeschi, is scheduled from Nov. 5 to Dec. 8, 2019: the exhibition takes place in Turin at the Polo del ’900. It will be open to the public with free admission from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

With Unforgettable Childhood - L’Infanzia indimenticabile, the Polo del ’900 intends to respond toUnicef ’s solicitations in view of two important historical anniversaries related to childhood. Next November 20, in fact, is the World Day of the Rights of the Child and Adolescent, which coincides with the 60th anniversary of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, drafted by the League of Nations as early as 1924, following the consequences that the First World War produced in particular on children, and approved by theUnited Nations Organization, in 1959.

For the exhibition, the curator involved Italian and Israeli artists to dialogue with each other about the experience of childhood, with the conviction that art is an instrument of peace that can create new and strong relationships against false stereotypes.

The children’s continuous experimentation in taking hold of everything at hand finds correspondence in the use of different techniques and materials: sewing, the use of the 10-color pen, watercolor, textiles, iron, stainless steel staples, cork, mirror-polished steel, newspapers, tape, wood and foil.

The exhibition is produced byAcribia Cultural Association in collaboration with the Polo de ’900 in Turin and under the patronage of theCultural Office of the Embassy of Israel in Italy. It was realized with the contribution of Fondazione CRT and Chamber of Commerce, with the support of Banca Patrimoni Sella & C. and the sponsorship of Società Reale Mutua Assicurazioni, Fondazione De Benedetti Cherasco Onlus, and Chiusano & C. Immobiliare.
