The Ministry of Culture has published a selection notice for the activation of 133 training and orientation internships for as many young people up to 29 years of age, who will be employed in the implementation of specific projects as part of the support of activities for the protection, enjoyment and enhancement of cultural heritageat the central and peripheral offices, institutes and cultural places of the Ministry.

This program of training and orientation internships, part of the “Youth for Culture Fund,” is promoted by the Ministry’s General Directorate of Education, Research and Cultural Institutes as a high-level training activity in the field of protection, enjoyment and enhancement of cultural heritage.

Selected young people will participate in training projects involving the activities of protection, enjoyment and enhancement of cultural heritage according to the following breakdown: 30 posts at the General Directorate of Archives; 30 posts at the General Directorate of Libraries and Copyright; 10 posts at the General Directorate of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape; 11 posts at the Central Institute for the Digitization of Cultural Heritage; 11 posts at the General Directorate of Education, Research and Cultural Institutes; 30 posts at the General Directorate of Museums; and 11 posts at the General Secretariat.

Specific degrees (each project indicates in which discipline) with a grade of at least 105/110, obtained within the 12 months preceding the date of publication of the notice, are required for access to all internships.

The selection is based on qualifications and interview, which is conducted electronically, using the telematic platforms provided by the host facilities, and following a schedule that will later be announced on the ministry’s website. The names of candidates admitted to the interview are published on the institutional website of this Ministry and on that of the Directorate General for Education, Research and Cultural Institutions.

The internships will last six months and have a duration of twenty-five hours per week. Trainees are paid a monthly allowance of 1,000 euros gross, including insurance coverage (civil liability and Inail). At the conclusion of the training program, a special certificate of participation assessable for the purposes of any subsequent selection procedures in the Public Administration is issued to those who have completed it. The issuance of the certificate of participation does not entail any obligation of employment by the Ministry of Culture. Trainees may not fill the roles necessary for the organization of the host structure, nor replace its staff during periods of illness, maternity or vacation. Admission to the internship does not in any way give rise to the establishment of an employment relationship with the Ministry of Culture.
