TheFriuli Venezia Giulia Tourist Guide Association has entered into a partnership with the Miramare Castle Historical Museum and Park in order to offer a new service to visitors to the museum’s headquarters in Trieste, namely guided tours for small groups that will take place during weekends in June.

The guided tours will be held every Saturday and Sunday at fixed times (at 2, 3 and 4 p.m.) and will last one hour. The tour guides will accompany their group, which may consist of a maximum of five people, through the rooms of the Castle and up to the parterre of the Italian garden: unlike the usual guided tours prior to the forced closure, during which visitors were taken only to the interior of the Castle, now the guides will also lead the public to discover the Park for small excursions aimed at introducing them to recent interventions and new blooms.

The guided tours will cost an additional 7 euros to the ordinary entrance fee.

“We gladly joined the proposal of the guides to give our public the opportunity to learn about curiosities and new views of Miramare, from a new, professional and competent perspective,” said the director of the Historical Museum and the Castle Park, Andreina Contessa.

“The Association is happy to inaugurate this new service right on the heels of the opening of the Museum and Park after the Covid-19 emergency,” added Francesca Pitacco, president of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Tourist Guide Association. “Miramare is an iconic image for tourists, but it is also one of the most beloved places for the people of Trieste: so we are proud to tell very small groups made up of tourists and residents a fascinating story that starts from Maximilian and comes to the present day. We have to thank the management and the concessionaire Verona83 for welcoming this project of ours that allows us to return to work in one of the most beautiful sites of our city.”
