Reading marathon kicks off from Italy's small museums

The National Association of Small Museums launches the Small Museums Narrating reading marathon.

TheAPM-National Association of Small Museums is launching from next week the Piccoli Musei Narranti initiative: this is a marathon of readings curated by small Italian museums that will continue until January 2021. Both museums that are members of the Association and non-member museums can participate in the initiative. Simply choose a literary work, short story, narrative or newspaper articles: a prerequisite, however, is that the stories represent the museum, its community and the area to which it belongs.

To join you can write to info@piccolimusei.com and follow the instructions. There will be no obligation of fixed days of publication, but at least one contribution every two weeks is expected to be posted on its web and social channels. The APM will re-share and collect them on its YouTube channel, creating a digital library of Small Museums that will reach at least 350 audio and video works, which will always be accessible even after the initiative ends.

Fifty museums from twelve regions have already joined. It is possible to submit one’s membership at any time. Through this initiative, small museums intend to remain active, even if closed due to the health emergency.

For more information, you can visit piccolimusei.com and follow the hashtags #smallmuseumsinarranti and #closenonconfirm on the official Facebook page.
